field monitor is another leap in Sony imaging technology. Using the
new OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology, blacks are black,
contrast is mesmerizing and your picture never looked so good. The
new “Flip” feature can swap the image horizontally, vertically, or
combined so that over and under 3D rig viewing is a simple push of a
button. The SD/HD/3G input is an option so even display of HD 60P
images is a snap.

Now Available! Production Outfitters has the Panasonic AG-3DA1 for rent. The industry proven, light weight, easy to operate camcorder is the first of it’s kind to offer an affordable HD 3D solution. It’s two full 1920 x 1080 2.07 megapixel 3-MOS imagers allow you to record 1080/60i, 50i, 30p, 25p and 24p (native) and 720/60p and 50p in AVCHD. Albuquerque, NM – Production Outfitters recently produced 3D stock footage of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Director/DP Gary Marsh, Stereographers Erik Donald and Allan Crawford shot for three days capturing amazing HD, 3D stock footage. “3D stock footage is a growing demand that we are meeting every day here at Production Outfitters.” Marsh adds. “We have constructed our own rig to support true, HD 3D using our existing high end Sony CineAlta 2/3 in chip cameras, to achieve true cinematic HD, 3D production.”

Albuquerque, NM – Production Outfitters recently demo’d Panasonics 3D camera. The Panasonic AG-3DA1 is the world’s first integrated twin-lens full HD 3D camcorder. The crew was amazed at how fast one could move around and aquire 3D images using this camera. They also note that it is not the “be all end all” 3D camera and that it does have its limitations, however, being aware of those limitations and shooting accordingly results in efficiently capturing effective 3D images.

Albuquerque, NM – April 24, 2010 – Production Outfitters recently completed a stereo 3D shoot and edit for Sandia National Labs.
The purpose was to shoot stereoscopic 3D footage of an experiment and compare the footage to the computer generated 3D model. To capture the footage two separate 3D rigs were used. One equipped with Phantom high speed cameras rolling at 7000 fps on Canon lenses set at 330 millimeters and one equipped with a pair of JVC GY HD 100’s. The shot added an additional challenge as the size of the subject matter was about the size of a hand and could only be viewed by a mirror. In addition the cameras had to be behind glass in a separate room.
“Using our existing inventory our stereographic team simulated tests in the field and in our studio to prove we could deliver solid S3D production, stereo 3D field monitoring and an efficient post-production workflow in a short amount of time.” Says Gary Marsh President and Director of Photography at Production Outfitters. The shoot was on Tuesday and the edited product was delivered on Friday for viewing on the Labs 40ft Sony S3D Digital Cinema Theatre.

Sony PDW-F800 HD XDCAM

Albuquerque, NM – The PDW-F800 camcorder is the newest member of our CineAlta HD line. It is equipped with three 2/3-inch type CCDs and a “Power HAD FX” progressive CCD with 1920 x 1080 effective pixels. Stunning-quality HD images can be captured at a data rate of up to 50Mbps using the MPEG-2 4:2:2 compression.
