Panasonic AG-HPX300 P2 HD

Production Outfitters continues to evolve it’s HD platform with the addition of Panasonic P2 HD. The HPX300 is the world’s first affordable full 10-bit, 4:2:2 professional HD camcorder.
With 17x interchangeable lens, three 1/3″ 2.2-megapixel 3-MOS imagers and full 1920×1080, 10-bit 4:2:2 AVC-Intra recording, the HPX300 brings true master-quality HD recording within your reach — all with the benefit of P2′s faster, independent frame, file-based workflow.
This camera offers native 24p (23.98 fps), making it an affordable digital cinema solution for indie film production. The HPX300 also offers a broad range of creative features including variable frame rates, six advanced gamma functions, Chromatic Aberration Compensation (CAC), built-in scan reverse, Dynamic Range Stretch (DRS) function, waveform and vector scope display and focus assist tools. Its high resolution LCOS color viewfinder (1,226,000-dot) and 3.2-inch LCD color monitor (921,000-dot) provide clear image reproduction even when shooting in bright outdoor areas.

Sony PDW-F800 HD XDCAM

The PDW-F800 camcorder is the newest member of our CineAlta HD line. It is equipped with three 2/3-inch type CCDs and a “Power HAD FX” progressive CCD with 1920 x 1080 effective pixels. Stunning-quality HD images can be captured at a data rate of up to 50Mbps using the MPEG-2 4:2:2 compression.
Our F800 is seening lots of action behind the scenes of “Knockout” and most recently on the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships on ESPN for Windfall Productions.
The F800 is a great addition to the growing arsenal of HD cameras at Production Outfitters. It provides multi-format recording flexibility including 1080i, 720P and SD, which comes with HD/SD conversion and cross conversion between 1080i and 720P. With features such as Slow & Quick Motion (over-crank and under-crank recording) make the PDW-F800 ideal for cinema and TV drama productions, as wel as ENG applications.

| Our HDCAM equipped uncompressed HD editing suite assisted a number of local film and television makers with transfers to or from HDCAM for various festivals around the U.S. Albuquerque animator Jeff Drew mastered his HD short for the Sundance Film Festival. Producer/Director Eileen Reynolds had us make an HDCAM Master of her short for screening at the “Slamdance Festival.” Documentary maker David Ellis transferred some HDCAM interviews to a hard drive for a project in development. |  |
